Training Programs

The Training Center in Lahore offers jewellery classes which range from entry level jewellery classes for beginners or hobbyists to advanced jewellery making classes.

The courses are organized in three streams as explained below. The students are advised to take these courses in the same sequence for well rounded and practically useful knowledge of jewellery.  The choice however would rest with the students according to their aptitude and interest of pursuit.

Stream 1. Jewelry Designing:

Discover how quickly and easily you can learn to create stunning pieces of wearable jewelry The course has two modules, i.e.  Manual Jewellery Designing and Computer Aided Jewellery Designing. Old time designing has its place but the advantages of computer aided designing can no longer be ignored. It is the perfect tool for turning the most complex design into simpler and faster task. In this creative career you can find work as part of busy design studio or choose to start your own business and get paid for your creativity.

Stream 2 Jewellery Manufacturing:

The course explores simple to complex jewellery manufacturing techniques and principles with a view to creating pieces of jewellery. Through exercises and projects students are taught pattern making in wax, casting, mold making, finishing/polishing, stone setting, sawing/piercing, filing, soldering, bending, surface texturing. After working with metal the students are encouraged to bring their own designs or illustrations of jewellery pieces they would like to make. They would be assisted with analyzing and manufacturing these pieces.

Stream 3 Gemology:

The courses give a start up knowledge of gemstones and diamonds for a vast field of information to identify a real stone. It gives a fairly high knowledge and expertise in both practical and theory of gemology. You may also proceed and learn to cut expensive stones and carve the not so expensive ones. GJTMC also offers colored stones tests.

Stream 4 Entrepreneur Development Course:

These courses will help improve your chances of success whether you are looking to start your own business or are an established business owner. We offer training on a range of small business topics including marketing and sales, business accounting, business plan development and more

Manual Jewellery Design Course

Objective:
The students will learn to develop their creative and technical skills of designing jewelry to produce aesthetic and technically sound designs. Manual jewelry designing is an essential foundation of jewelry products.

Beads Stringing Course (Patwa jewelry)

Computer Aided jewellery Designing

Objective:
Candidates will learn to translate concepts into creative patterns by using CAD software, which has become a necessary tool in designing and manufacturing of jewelry. It will develop creative and technical skills to enhance designing and manufacturing capabilities.

• Introduction & role of CAD/CAM in jewelry
• Designing & drafting of simple shapes in 2D
• Implementation of software tools & commands
• Designing & drafting of complex 3D- shapes
• Designing of Rings, Bangles, and Pendants & Bracelets
• Optimization of design in terms of weight & shape

Duration: 6-weeks

Computer Aided Jewelry Designing (Advance)

Objective:
To learn how to make precise finished models to be more efficient in design and manufacture

Course Outline:

  • Process of creating precise and accurate models for all types of jewellery.
  • Understand how parts will fit before manufacture
  • How to fit stones to the model
  • Advance surface and solid modeling
  • How to reduce traditional costs
  • Design validation of CAD file
  • How to improve communication with the customer

JEWELLERY MANUFACTURING

Jewellery Manufacturing courses run in two streams, sequentially each having 3 modules, adding up to 12 weeks duration each to produce well rounded jewelry craftsman which increases competitiveness through skill development.

Stream 1  comprising pattern making in wax (6 weeks)  finishing /polishing (2 weeks)  and stone setting (4 weeks) explained below:-

Jewellery manufacturing module -1

Wax Carving

Objective:
Candidates will learn to make master pattern from wax with the help of carving tools. This master pattern will be casted in precious or semi-precious metals (gold, silver, and palladium) to produce finished jewelry pattern.

Duration: 6-weeks

Finishing & Polishing

Objective:
The students will learn the finishing and polishing techniques to make the final product look beautiful.

• (Sand blasting+ Enameling+ Hammer finish+ Coloring+ Stippling + Oxidization + Bright cutting and Texturing )

Duration: 2-weeks

Stone Setting

Objective:
The students will learn the techniques of fixing gem stones in jewelry by using different settings.

Course Outline:
• Prongs settings
• Bezel setting
• Channel setting
• bar settings
• Pave settings

Duration: 4-weeks

Stream 2  comprising Sawing/Piercing  (6 weeks), Filing (4 weeks)  Shaping and Doming (2 weeks) total 12 weeks as  explained below:-

Sawing & Piercing

Objective:
Students will learn to translate jewelry design directly on to metal sheet with precision and accuracy by using sawing & piercing tools.
It is very useful technique in hand made jewellery.

Filing and Finishing

Course Outline:

  • Introduction to mechanical finishing

Shaping and Doming Course

GEMOLOGY

Gemstones Identification and Grading

Objective:
Candidates will learn the physical and optical properties of gemstones along with the identification of gemstones by using various gemological instruments.
