Introduction

Gem Exchange Quetta islocated at prince road, which is the hub of Gems and Jewellery trade in Quetta. It is housed in an area of 4300 Sq.ft with 17 booths allotted to Gemstone businessmen of the region. PGJDC's commitment is reflected in such a way that its Gem Exchange Quetta is in consistent efforts to promote the Gemstone and Mineral Specimen treasures of Balochistan Province. It provides a lucrative platform to the buyers and sellers of gemstones and mineral specimens of Balochistan to promote and market their products so that a direct link could be established from mine to market leading towards export growth. At Gem Exchange Quetta, the interested buyers are exposed to quality products on competitive prices, which add tangible value to their businesses. Gem Exchange Quetta has luxurious display from the regional Gemstone businessmen and women that include precious and semi-precious rough and cut stones such as aquamarine, peridot, tourmaline, ruby, sapphire, emerald, turquoise, lapis, Onex, calcite, Garnett, axenite, amatheist, kunzite, fluorite, diamond quartz and many more.

1-      Trading Booths at Gem Exchange:

At Gem Exchange Quetta, 17 trading booths have been established which are allotted to the Gemstone dealers from all across the province. These gemstone dealers have set up their displays at the Gem Exchange and are engaged in buying and selling of their products. Interested customers from all across Quetta and the remaining areas of the Balochistan Province visit these booths regularly and engage in trade

2-      Gemstone Identification Laboratory:

Gem Identification Laboratory is functional since 18 September, 2009 and isrun by a certified Gemologist from AIGS Bangkok (Thailand). The Laboratory is equipped with latest Gem testing instruments of international standards. It is the first of its kind in Pakistan from where Gemstone dealers can get verbal opinion and reports at very nominal charges.

3-      Gem Bazaars:

Gem Bazaars organized by PGJDC at Gem Exchange Quetta provide an excellent platform to the buyers and sellers of Balochistan and from other parts of the Country to gather under one roof and engage in trade. This is an opportunity which PGJDC is providing to the gemstone sector of Balochistan as a part of its endeavors for developing this sector in order to increase foreign exchange through exports.

PGJDC has been instrumental in providing support to those who need a platform to flourish their business in gems and jewellery. Gem Bazaars are exactly doing the same thing. They are mobilizing the business of gemstones in the regions including Quetta, Zhob, Kharan, Chaghi, Mushlimbagh, Pishin and many more to list around Balochistan, by creating an impact through this activity.

During the event, a huge variety of gemstones and mineral specimens, both rough and cut, are displayed from all across Pakistan, Afghanistan, Iran etc. These include precious and semi-precious gemstones including Ruby, Emerald, Peridot, Tourmaline, Aquamarine, Garnett, Kunzite, Zircon, Jasper, Lazurite, Quartz, Exinite, Brokite etc.

Gem Bazaars are a regular feature of Gem Exchange Quetta and so far PGJDC has successfully organized 9 Gem Bazaars at this Facility.
